Program
Mental Health Access
Education so families recognize what they are seeing, resources so they know where to turn, and care navigation so they actually get there.
- Who it serves
- Families in Central Texas, beginning with the Round Rock and greater Austin area, who face financial or practical barriers to mental health care, with a particular focus on children and the caregivers who support them.
- What it includes
Free psychoeducation workshops for parents and caregivers; bilingual mental health resource kits distributed through schools, clinics, and community organizations; and one-on-one care navigation toward affordable evaluation and treatment.
- Eligibility
- There is no formal application at this time. Families reach out by email and the Foundation responds based on the family's situation and what is available. Living in Central Texas and facing a cost or access barrier are the main considerations. No one is guaranteed assistance.
- How to inquire
- Email howdy@carrygoodforward.com. See Get Help for what to include.
- Funding limitations
- The Foundation is newly formed and its programs are offered as funding and partner capacity allow. Workshops and resource kits are scheduled as they are funded. Any help reducing the cost of an evaluation or treatment is limited by available charitable funds and is decided case by case.
- Who delivers services
- The Foundation coordinates education, resources, and care navigation. Clinical services, including psychological evaluations and therapy, are delivered by licensed providers, including partner practices, not by the Foundation.
Psychoeducation workshops
Caregivers are often the first to notice that something is wrong and the last to get a clear explanation. Workshops are free sessions for parents and caregivers, led by licensed clinicians, on topics such as childhood anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and managing stress at home. They are designed to be hosted at partner schools and community sites and offered in English and Spanish. The aim is practical: what am I seeing, what does it mean, and what can I do next?
Resource kits
A bilingual resource guide that a school counselor, pediatrician, or community worker can hand to a family in the moment they need it. Guides cover warning signs, how to ask for help, low-cost options in the area, and crisis lines. Kits are distributed through partner sites rather than mailed individually, so that they reach families through people they already trust. Organizations interested in distributing kits can learn more on the Community Partners page.
Care navigation
Knowing that help exists is not the same as reaching it. Care navigation is one-on-one support to understand options, prepare for appointments, and connect to affordable evaluation and treatment. For families who need a psychological evaluation and cannot afford one, the Foundation works, as charitable funding allows, to reduce that cost.
What we track
Caregivers attending workshops, resource kits distributed by partner site, families receiving care navigation, families connected to evaluation or treatment, and caregiver knowledge and confidence before and after workshops. Results will be published on the Impact page as programs are delivered.
What the Foundation is, and is not. Carry Good Forward Foundation is a charitable foundation. It provides education, resources, and care navigation, and directs charitable funds toward access to care as funding allows. Clinical services such as psychological evaluations and psychotherapy are delivered by licensed providers, including partner practices, not by the Foundation itself. Assistance is never guaranteed and depends on available funding, partner capacity, and each family's situation.
How to inquire
Email howdy@carrygoodforward.com. It helps to include the general area where you live, whether the support is for a child or an adult, what kind of help you are looking for (an evaluation, therapy, or information), and whether cost is the main barrier. Please do not include detailed medical or personal records in a first email. See Get Help for what to expect.
Carry good forward with us.
Every gift, partnership, and hour of volunteer time helps close the distance between needing support and receiving it.
