For Funders

Grants & Funding

For foundations, grant makers, and institutional funders considering an investment in mental health access for Central Texas families.

Organization overview

Carry Good Forward Foundation is a Central Texas charitable foundation founded on a simple belief: healing is not only personal, it is generational. It works to expand access to mental health care, especially psychological testing and psychotherapy, for people and families facing financial and practical barriers. Its work rests on four pillars, Mental Health Access, Stronger Families, Healthier Communities, and Generations Forward, delivered through partnerships with schools, clinics, and local organizations.

Program model

The Mental Health Access program has three components: free caregiver psychoeducation workshops led by licensed clinicians; bilingual mental health resource kits distributed through schools, pediatric clinics, and community organizations; and one-on-one care navigation that connects families to affordable evaluation and treatment, including, as funding allows, reduced-cost psychological evaluations for children whose families cannot otherwise afford them.

Outcomes tracked

  • Caregivers attending workshops (sign-in records).
  • Resource kits distributed, by partner site (distribution log).
  • Families receiving care navigation (case log).
  • Families connected to evaluation or treatment (30-day follow-up).
  • Caregiver knowledge and confidence (pre/post survey).

Targets are set per grant in proportion to the request. The Foundation does not publish projections as results; see Impact.

Governance and capacity

The Foundation was founded by Dr. Monika Diaz, a licensed psychologist, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. It draws on established relationships with Central Texas schools, pediatric practices, and community organizations, and on the clinical expertise of its founding partner, Amlea Behavioral Healthcare, to deliver programs at low overhead. The Foundation and Amlea are distinct entities; see Transparency.
